As good as this series is, it definitely ticks a box about what I hate about PBS. It has ads. They don’t call them ads. They call them sponsors. Then claim it’s not ads. Heck, the entire series is basically native advertising. Really well made and interesting native advertising.

I used to drive a truck Cali and back to pick up produce, i never saw an american face in those fields working. Americans just dont want to do these type of jobs anymore. The Mexican people love the land and from what i saw and spoke with people they enjoyed their work.

I was tasked with getting cilantro and jalapenos on my way home. I got two bushels and three jalapenos for $1.20. I would absolutely be willing to pay much more than that if farm workers were paid more.

Produce is hilariously cheap.
